The Social Impact Fellowship is a competitive summer and academic-year program that gives Columbia University students a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge and build new skills that prepare them for careers and initiatives in social impact.During the 2024-2025 academic year, Social Impact Fellows receive mentorship, meet social impact innovators (including participants in the Obama Foundation Scholars Program at Columbia University), complete a capstone project, and gain insight into the work of Columbia World Projects at Columbia Global.At the end of the program, students present a capstone project that provides them with an opportunity to propose an approach to addressing a societal challenge.My project aims to find new, sustainable models for public service journalism.Skills Developed:Negotiation and Conflict ResolutionProject ManagementMonitoring, Evaluating and LearningResearch and EngagementLeadershipHuman-Centered Design

I currently serve as the Literature Editor for University Times. University Times has a print readership of 1,000 and an online readership of 150,000 per month. In my role, I coordinate the publication of six articles fortnightly. This involves generating ideas, deciding upon pitches from contributing writers, editing articles and working on the layout design of the paper. During my time as editor, I have conducted interviews with writers such as Thomas Morris, Mary Morrissy and Gustav Parker Hibbett as well as authoring several opinion pieces and book reviews.
