My passion for the agriculture industry was sparked as a teenager when I began working for a large animal vet. As a vet assistant, I was able to network with local livestock producers and learn their concerns about the ever changing agriculture industry. I also was heavily involved in my high school FFA chapter where I served as president my junior and senior year. I felt a call to advocate and serve in a larger capacity as I went on to be a Regional FFA Officer. The hardships of our local farmers in East TN encouraged me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics. I was very fortunate to be a part of the UTIA Farm Credit Scholars Program. Throughout the program, scholars partake in workshops and events that help develop professional presence and facilitation abilities. In the summer of 2021, I was fortunate to serve as the Rural 1st Partnerships intern and glean from the knowledge of experienced agricultural servants within Farm Credit Mid-America. All of my experiences, ranging from livestock production and health to agricultural finance has instilled in me a purpose. That purpose is to effectively serve and educate the future of the agriculture industry.
