BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre is reinventing and innovating healthcare for women. We are at ground zero in eradicating cervical cancer. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) houses the only mother-and-baby unit in North America for 1,700 of the most critically-ill babies in the province (annually). As the national leader in supporting the role of midwives in obstetrics, we became the first hospital in BC to fully integrate midwives into its maternity care program. Our Urgent Care Centre – Canada’s only maternity Emergency Room – will see 15,000 patient visits a year. In addition, BC Women's Hospital has over 44 clinics dedicated to the health of women in our province including having one of two of the ONLY women's health research institutes in the country.. We send over 2,000 people to volunteer abroad every year to help keep our projects sustainable and to ensure their positive impact on surrounding environments. All our volunteer work abroad projects are run alongside, and with the collaboration of, local partners and communities. This helps us to determine their needs to empower them to meet their goals.

- Engaged students through creative ways of learning while implementing adaptable lesson plans for diverse learning environments and target groups. For example, businesses, summer camps, private tutoring, and elementary classrooms.- Assessed and graded papers, exams, and presentations while providing constructive criticism and positive encouragement.- Problem solved, and provided support and guidance to students.

- Researched and corresponded with different foundations, organizations and businesses with the intent to collaborate and foster relationships amongst groups holding the same initiatives as LFA.- Reviewed, summarized, and presented both current and prospective projects of interest.- Results and goal orientated.
