I am a national certified medical assistant (NCMA) with eight years of experience. I currently work at the Rapid City Medical Center as a NCMA in the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology department. I am a highly driven individual and am capable of working well both in a team setting and independently. I possess excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills. My personality is characterized by a friendly, compassionate, and empathetic nature. My dedication to providing high-quality patient care has always been my driving force.I graduated on May 6, 2023, with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Minor in Public Health (magna cum laude) from the University of South Dakota. In May 2015, I obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting (summa cum laude) from Western Dakota Technical Institute. I received my National Certification in Medical Assisting through the National Center of Competency Testing and am certified in Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) with adults, children, and infants through the American Heart Association. Additionally, I have a Health Care Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Certificate granted by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).I possess a broad range of competencies, including the ability to schedule, scribe, and manage patient care, as well as clinical and administrative responsibilities. I am proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, EHR, and Medical Computerized Office Application Systems. My extensive experience includes obtaining vital signs and medical histories, assisting in minor medical procedures, performing allergy skin testing, injection administration, spirometry, casting, splinting, and wound treatment, and scheduling appointments and surgical procedures for multiple providers at local medical clinics and hospitals. I am adept at managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.In my free time, I enjoy writing, photography, various outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. To date, I have traveled to twelve countries, including Mexico, France, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK. Having the opportunity to travel is a great blessing, and I enjoy being immersed in the culture and beauty of each country. Traveling allows me to appreciate what I already have; it has enabled me to gain knowledge, meet remarkable people, experience new things, learn about history, and view life in a new light.
