Hello my name is Sarah Dolman, I am a mother of three children, ages, Thirteen, Seven and Four. my eldest son was diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder and ADHD whilst attending primary school. My daughter doesn't have an official diagnosis as of yet but we are going through the process as we speak. As a mother you know if your children are struggling. Both autistic children are Hypersensitive. this means noises can be very overwhelming for them, it can cause them to become very distressed within the environment we live, for instance.....walking down a busy street with road works, children walking to school, school settings, supermarkets, indoor play areas, leisure centers, even in the home with household appliances. My children need to wear ear defenders to help with this. But as my son is getting older he doesn't want to wear the current styles that are on the market today. My daughter also struggles with the current styles.So for the last two years I have been designing a new style of Ear defenders which are tailored to the needs of children and adults with Disabilities and sensory processing disorder. I have got to a stage of having a prototype which is absolutely amazing. I have been working with the Materials Processing Institute in Middlesbrough for the last two years, Also with Teesside University who have made me a prototype, I am currently attending the Natwest accelerator course which is fantastic. I am hoping to be able to start manufacturing in the next 12 months if all goes to plan. please connect with me and follow my progress.
