On secondment from the Reserve Bank to Westpac’s Economics team. My role involved forecasting and analysing developments in the New Zealand economy to assist with decision making within Westpac and by the Bank's customers. I focused on trade and GDP, but also helped to develop the Economics team's overall view of the economy. This role required strong communication skills, including interacting with the media.

Within this, I played a key role coordinating and contributing to the team's regular reports and presentations for the Monetary Policy Committee, ensuring that relevant and targeted information was presented in the lead up to policy decisions.

This included specialisation in various sectors including New Zealand's export and household sectors, as well as operating the Bank's core forecast model to produce medium-term projections of the New Zealand economy.Modelling team (January 2010-December 2011)This role involved developing and maintaining a suite of time-series forecasting models, and time-series analysis of the New Zealand economy.
