As VP, Global Communications at Blue Ant Media, Sarah Etherden plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's comprehensive communication strategy. As a key member of the global management team, she oversees both external and internal communications, contributing to Blue Ant Media's status as a player in the production, distribution/rights and broadcasting sectors.Sarah's notable achievements include positioning Blue Ant as a global leader in FAST, AVOD and 4K content, particularly with Love Nature, and steering the commissioning and affiliate teams toward success with PR support. Further, she supports the company's distribution business with PR efforts that have positioned the group as a leader in licensing sales; and has contributed to production's several broadcast, streaming and festival premieres with strategic PR paving the way to awards and new greenlights. Throughout her career, Sarah has worked on projects attached to YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Visa Infinite, LucasFilm, Netflix, Warner Bros., BBC and many others. Her extensive network includes collaborations with household names, public figures and celebrities.In 2013, Sarah founded Phoenix PR, an award-winning communications collective. During this time, she consulted with notable clients, including marblemedia and the Jim Henson Company, on CPRS- and IABC-award winning PR campaign for Hi Opie!. Notably, her company also championed the work of TRIEC, which celebrates and supports the careers and lives of skilled immigrants in CanadaSarah's previous role at Teletoon Canada (2010-2014) saw her managing and executing media relations and corporate communications for seasonal launches and network priorities. Her leadership was instrumental in the high-profile launch of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim in Canada. Prior to her roles in the screen-based industry, Sarah spent five years in leadership positions in the tourism and not-for-profit sectors, overseeing PR and marketing.Currently, Sarah sits on the Advisory Board for Banff World Media Festival. She has held similar roles with the Ottawa International Animation Festival and Concerned Children's Advertisers of Canada.
