My role as an intelligence officer involved working as a team to process all intelligence that came into the department from a variety of sources. Each item of intelligence was evaluated to ensure it complied with the National Intelligence Model, requiring consideration to the wider impact that any single piece of information may have. This often led to producing & developing intelligence products to support strategic decision making. Often working under pressure & within tight deadlines. I was always mindful of force & local priorities, which could often conflict, giving me a strong ability to prioritise workloads. In my time in this role I built up good working relationships with a number of people in partner agencies such as housing associations & local councils. I regularly attended meetings with senior officers to deliver intelligence products having extracted the data from a number of different computer systems and compiled the information in to a readable format.

This role involved working alone with minimal to no supervision. I was in charge of all Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in Cambridge City, attending meetings, producing monthly newsletters & urgent bulletins. I liaised with a variety of community members and leaders, providing a link between community members and the wider policing team.

The role involved working in a call centre taking crime reports from members of public & police officers, accurately recording all crimes on to the system & ensuring they were allocated accordingly.
