•Provided leadership for acute care pharmacy in a level 1 trauma safety net hospital. Areas of oversight included central pharmacy, sterile compounding, procurement and investigational drug studies related to hiring, coaching, training, and development of 2 acute care supervisors, pharmacy procurement team (4 procurement specialists), 1 instructional designer, 1 chief intern and 12 clinical interns. •Developed standard operating procedures to meet compliance requirements and create efficient work practices across the department. •Other responsibilities included project management and department metric creation, monitoring and reporting.Notable achievements in this role:• Appointed by department director as project manager over implementation and roll-out of MedEx TraySafe Monitoring System. Project met expectations, completed early and allowed the department to automate the replenishment, safety, and tracking processes associated with pharmacy medicine trays and kits, decreasing department time spent on kit and tray monitoring and maintenance by 50% • Lead development of new Acute Care Pharmacy Procurement the team. Successfully coached team to implement standard day supply on hand quantities based on actual usage, while reducing quantity on hand by 40K per month. • Standardized medication and product ordering procedures to reduce ordering time by 50%, while creating a clean, organized, labeled and clutter-free warehouse environment. • Successfully implemented ECRI Recall Monitoring to assure recall compliance met 100% execution.• Collaborated with nursing administration, co-leading hospital-wide Medication Administration forum. Addressed clinical and operational needs throughout the hospital. Successfully standardized meeting agendas to create efficiency and increase collaboration, while decreasing time to approve and implement drug conversions, product conversions and hospital-wide communication regarding updates and changes.
