Established in 2004, the primary focus of the CEC is to promote and support improved clinical care, safety and quality across the NSW public health system.Organisational Effectiveness is the practice of ongoing, systematic organisational change to enhance performance. Change happens through increased organisational learning, knowledge transfer, effective leadership practice and transformation of organisational norms and values. The CEC delivers these functions through an internal consultancy model to the NSW health system.In my role as Implementation Advisor for Organisation Effectiveness I led the Clinical Governance Stocktake of several LHDs and piloted the process with a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) trialing a cost recovery approach. o Used evidence-based tools and processes and a qualitative approach to facilitate large workshops with key stakeholders to review the effectiveness of a clinical governance functions.o Worked with organisation leads to identify and prioritise areas for improvement in clinical governance, patients’ safety and quality and supported teams with implementation of improvement initiatives. o Achieved >70% staff satisfaction average scores (for both achieving workshop objectives and the workshop experience).Led large scale consultation and diagnostic processes with NSW Health staff and consumers to inform new and established CEC Patient Safety Program as they worked to design, develop, prioritise, and evaluate their program functions and activities. o Consultation involved face to face interviews and onsite visits conducted by CEC program and project leads held across multiple LHDs (included metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote). o A qualitative research design using a grounded theory underpinned the approach to explore the organisational conditions and environments of specific specialty settings.o Acted as project lead, lead interviewer (> 100 interviews) and co-author of the final reports.

eMR2 Implementation Project ManagerThe state level electronic Medical Record (eMR2) Program extended the application of the existing electronic Medical record into the inpatient and various outpatient settings across New South Wales Local Health Districts (LHDs). eMR enhancements and new functionality were driven by eHealth and the Clinical Excellence Commission to improve patient safety and outcomes of care through clinical service redesign, innovation and evidence-based practice.• Led the successful implementation of the second generation of eMR (eMR2) across SESLHD, supported by a project implementation team. • Managed a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical workforce. Managed all facets of workforce management, including recruitment and selection; performance and professional development; rostering • Managed a budget of approximately $2.3M, comprising of $1.3M annually for employee related expenses and $1M for goods and services to support infrastructure for implementation. Negotiated improved pricing with vendors in purchase of ICT equipment Key achievements and Outcomes included:o 100% of in scope facilities and clinical locations implemented within timeframes and budget.o >95% workforce (5,500) trained within timeframe.o Forward estimates - LHD wide savings of > $500K per annum based on reduction in paper forms ordering and useo 98% staff satisfaction scores (for both the project implementation process and the product implemented)

Successfully led the implementation of the POWH Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) prevention hospital wide program using a project management approach to plan, guide and progress practice improvement within a structured multidisciplinary framework in partnership with a Haematologist.Key achievements and outcomes included:o Thromboprophylaxis rates (a key clinical indicator) in greater than 90% of high-risk patients and sustaining this over 5 years (compared to an international average of 40% to 59%)

In my role as Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Handover, I:• Authored facility level operational plan for Hospital accreditation (Clinical Handover) • Led the execution of the operational plan which included review and updating of existing processes and resources as well as managing new developments and changes to practice such as:• Governance processes (committee structure, risk management and escalation) • Governance materials (Business Rules, Clinical Handover processes, support tools and training/education )• Evaluation, monitoring and feedback of the processes, outcomes and performance (including incidents, issues, and risks reporting investigation and monitoring)Key achievements and outcomes included:• Achieved accreditation with multiple 'met with merits'• Conceptualised, designed, populated (in collaboration with clinicians as end users) an electronic platform• Launched the POWH Clinical Handover Intranet portal which functioned to provide a central hub for all Clinical Handover resources• Developed digital solution for Doctor to Doctor handover process including the development of an Emergency Department to ward eMR medical handover digital form.
