I was taking the wheelchair back to the supply room of the skilled nursing floor, and a passing double glance was all it took for me to realize that a patient was in immediate danger. It was clear to me that the patient was experiencing difficulty breathing and prompt action was required to save their life. Fast forward thirty minutes, and myself and the Registered Nurse have saved the patient's life. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), I am responsible for delivering direct care to patient's as ordered by the RN/LVN such as toileting, bathing, feeding, grooming, and so on. As you can probably guess, I pay close attention to details and am quick to notice clinical changes in my patients. Therefore, I can discern when something is physically or emotionally wrong with the patient. I am passionate about always maintaining patient safety and comfort by following evidenced based practices in healthcare. The pursuit of passion is what gives our life meaning, and what makes our lives worth living. This is why I am determined to provide holistic and individualized care for each patient I take care of.
