Working mainly remotely, from home (Derbyshire), I provide a HR consultancy service to Think Telecom. Previous to this Think Telecom had no HR support, so my role has been to implement the basic HR tools. My role is to provide HR advise to the management team on various HR issues, including absence management, disciplinary and grievance, employment contracts, recruitment and retention. Key responsibilities and achievements;- Sourcing and implementing an HR system, to move HR records away from spreadsheets- Introducing the self-service element of the new system to staff and managers and ensuring its continued use- Writing and launch of various HR policies and procedures- Creating contracts of employment for all staff - Creation of HR induction documents- Introduction of the Bradford Factor for monitoring absence- Creating a probationary process and implementing this to the business, including carrying out probationary reviews with staff during visits to the office - Creation of Job Descriptions - Providing HR advise to the Directors on a wide range of employment issues, including, conduct and disciplinary, probationary reviews and extensions, long-term and short-term absence, and grievance. - Producing reports from the HR system, including starters and leavers and absence, change of details and liaising with finance/payroll to ensure all payroll data is captured

I currently volunteer as Secretary of the local pre-school which my son attends. My role involves taking and circulating minutes of committee meetings, writing monthly newsletters and other ‘Parent mail’ communications, advising the pre-school manager and other committee members on staff/HR matters. In addition to this I help with fundraising events for the pre-school.

My role of HR Advisor was a generalist role, providing comprehensive and professional HR advice to managers throughout the UK and also to remote line managers in the other Ikano countries, as part of the multi-sited, matrix environment. Supporting the HR Manager in continuous improvement of the HR operational function, to identify employee relations issues and work with managers to resolve them
