I am a first year science student at UNB. Ever since I was a tiny child, I’ve been fascinated with the world around me. I’ve always had an incredibly wide range of interests (and I don’t think I’ve stopped asking questions since I learned to speak), but out of everything, it was science that stood out to me the most. I remember watching the Cosmos docuseries on Netflix way back in middle school, and it lit a fire inside me still burns bright. I just have this insatiable desire to learn how our universe works. It’s no surprise, then, that I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Science. I’ve had many experiences throughout my life that have helped me become the person I am today. Here are a few:1) During the summer of 2018, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend SHAD 2018 at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, which was an incredible experience that taught me so much and that I will never forget. I learned valuable entrepreneurship and team-building skills and formed lifelong friendships with people from all over Canada.2) I have contributed over 100 hours of volunteering in my community in the last 3 years, and I’ve been involved in multiple youth leadership/activism groups at school, which have taught me the importance of giving back to my community.3) I’ve been a member of Lintuhtine Music Academy choirs for almost a decade; the choir has become my second family. I also took piano lessons for just as long, earning my Grade 8 Royal Conservatory level two years ago.Now I’m looking ahead to my future. I hope that my irrepressible curiosity and drive to succeed will carry me through this next stage of my life and onto bigger and better things. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for me.
