I started my journey at Valley in the General Surgery Unit. I transferred to the Float Pool and had the opportunity to serve patients and work with colleagues throughout the hospital. I often worked on the following units; Chest Pain, Cardiac, Respiratory Renal, General Surgery, Medical, IRCU, Joint Center and sometimes the Infusion Center. I am currently working on the Neuro/ Cardiac unit. I take pride in my work and I'm committed to quality patient care every time.

Managed the Unit Secretaries and Staff Schedulers. Served as Assistant Nurse Manager in a 25 bed Swing Bed Unit in a Critical Access Hospital. Participated in interviewing and hiring new nurses and support staff. Assisted in developing and implementing an orientation program for resident nurses and new hires. Managed staff schedules ,taking in to account skills set, acuity, and the needs of our staff. Performed employee evaluations, feed back, and coaching. Encouraged staff involvement and supported continued education.

Lead a team of nurses and support staff through the daily functions of the unit and assisted them in providing quality care to our patients. Ensured we had a safe staff ratio based on acuity and skill mix. Actively participated in the Staffing Committee and advocated for safe patient -nurse ratios. Participated in the Safety Committee and Quality Assurance Committees, where we collaborated on Fall Prevention, Bed Side Handoff, and Improving Outcomes.
