My role is to support the professor of an essay writing course held at the University of Ottawa by facilitating seminars, hosting office hours to support student learning, and give academic guidance to students in order to aid them in their scholarly pursuits.

Provides general landscape and maintenance labour services to municipal parks, trails, gardens and public properties as well as cemeteries as needed. In addition, general labour for special event set-ups & take-downs and required park maintenance and customer service during such events is also performed.

Various classroom management strategies were consistently used, including audio, visual, and kinesthetic, to effectively redirected children who became distracted or disruptive. The establishment of such strategies early on made the implementation of probability and narrative units developed for the class run fluently. Cross-curricular lessons and backwards design gave students applicable skills to reach attainable goals. Following research on engaging and assessing introverts, instruction was altered to ensure students were given equal opportunity to accurately display their learning in ways that might traditionally be overlooked.

Facilitating STEAM-based educational programming for students ages 3-14. Educational activities included but were not limited to lessons on the local environment, coding, the arts, and science. My mission in this role was to provide fun, educational, and innovative opportunities for children to flourish in a supportive learning environment. I provided youth with stimulating experiences, both indoor and outdoor, that promoted their curiosity and desire to learn.

Application of backwards design was used to create a multi-curricular unit that produced a play that was put on for the school, parents, and school board dignitaries. The play was an adaptation of the Indigenous storybook, and so consultations were held with Indigenous elders and resource teachers. Based on the Ontario Curriculum expectations, assessment for, as, and of learning were utilized throughout for accurate measurement of student growth and learning, with some examples being surveys, exit cards, and small group jigsaw puzzles. Language components were scaffolded to promote individual student success, and social studies examples were drawn directly from the local community.

Enforcing growth mindset was a key component, as both science and visual art challenged the students and their perceived abilities.
