The Architecture and Design Collection Curatorial Intern role gave me the opportunity to experience working in both an archival and museum environment. On the archival side in the Architecture and Design Collection, I conducted research on numerous architects, both within and outside the existing collection, to facilitate proper organization of the archive and improve informational accuracy. One of the largest projects I worked on was the acquisition of a new archive which required the inventory, organization, re-housing, and storage of 50+ architectural documents. Within the larger umbrella of the Art, Design, & Architecture Museum, I wrote and produced a segment of an audio guide to accompany a museum exhibition. This role encouraged me to strengthen my research skills and dive into the working relationships in the museum field.

Working at Hunter’s Nursery strengthened my customer service skills and personal plant knowledge. Some of my daily responsibilities included advising customers about their plants and gardens, maintaining the inventory of 1,000+ plants by watering and pruning, and facilitating customer purchases. This role required customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and attention to detail. In addition, it deepened my knowledge about plants and plant care.
