At Dwight Foster Public Library, I work to pull holds from the shelves of our library for patrons either in our area or neighboring libraries. Since I work in the evenings, I also help close down the library for the night, helping to clean and organize for the next day. I also answer patron questions when they come up.

Cleans all classrooms, restrooms and public areas.Maintains a high standard of cleanliness through the building. Secures building or area on a daily basis or as directed. Moves equipment and furniture as needed.Plows and salts sidewalks and other paving areas as required.Clears sidewalks, parking lots and driveways of debris and snow.Ability to operate equipment including vacuums, auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, swing scrubbers, and other minor maintenance equipment.Ability to operate snow and grounds equipment.Ability to communicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, administrators, parents and members of the community to maintain a positive working relationship.Ability to effectively use a variety of technologies, including but not limited to: email systems, word-processing software, internet, and ability to adapt to changes in technology.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to work on feet for majority of shift.Ability to work outside, in extreme conditions as needed.

While working for the Fort Atkinson School District during the summers of 2019 and 2021, I worked with a crew of custodians to ready the school for the next school year, vacuuming, wiping things down, cleaning carpets, etc. I also worked as a seasonal employee during my winter and spring break off from school in January 2019 and May 2020. During that time in January, I worked at Rockwell Elementary during the night, cleaning bathrooms, getting garbage, vacuuming, and scrubbing the floor to get it ready for the next school day. Furthermore, in May 2020 to June 2022, I began working during the day as a substitute head custodian, interacting with students and staff to complete work orders, clean up messes, and assist with lunch times.

At the St. Norbert College Writing Center, my main priority was to help students understand how to improve their writing. I gave feedback about where to revise and edit, grammar and spelling suggestions, and I also give advice to students on how to improve topic sentences, conclusion paragraphs, etc. After an appointment, I also typed up a “Client Report” that is both sent to the student and professor of that course about major takeaways I had about the assignment. I also tried to offer some strategies or recommendations to the student on how to further improve their writing.

While working at Shopko, I oversaw putting away customer returns, answering customer questions in person or on the phone, and straightening merchandise on the salesfloor. Occasionally, I worked registers up front, or helped to unload merchandise from the distribution center truck.
