I am an undergraduate student at Grand Valley State University working towards my degree in Health Communications. My hope for after college is to get a position working as a patient advocate, a health educator, or have a job working with health literacy. My interest is mainly in health literacy. Since starting my college career, I have been interested in the health field. Recently I have been more interested in working more with the public in order to increase awareness about basic more "need to know" health facts. Having done an internship at a health department, I was alarmed at how many individuals do not understand how to stay healthy, or overall communicate with their doctors. Being able to educate people on things they should know about their personal health would be a rewarding and productive position for me.
