Sarah Sharp Email and Phone Number
I'm an experienced theatre and arts leader who is passionate about opening up access to the theatre industry for both artists and audiences. I have worked in a variety of organisations from small DIY venues and organisations to larger national portfolio organisations which has given me an insight into operations on a range of scales. The majority of my career has been based in Sheffield, with a period of work commuting to Manchester when working for HOME Arts Centre. My roles have consistently involved producing and programming strands of works, festivals and participation schemes as well as working directly with artists and companies. Every organisation I have worked at has been a charity who operates a venue, so I have an awareness of the range of challenges that face varying venue based arts charities. I sat on the board of trustees for a devised theatre and touring arts company (Third Angel) for 5 years, where I also formed a knowledge about the running and governance of non-building based organisations. In my previous role as Director of The Montgomery Theatre and Arts Centre I fundraised for a major capital redevelopment project which began in the summer of 2023 and run until 2024.My new role at Sheffield City Council marks an exciting step for me in my development and I am thrilled to help start working in the strategic direction and support of Sheffield's thriving cultural scene.
