Hi, I am Sarah! I have a strong passion for mental health advocacy and supporting children's social emotional learning. I also really enjoy nature, music, art, and poetry in my free time. I have written and drawn two children's books but have yet to publish. I began my journey into this field of therapy as I wish I had someone in my position now when I was growing up, it can do a whole lot of change for the better. Next, is my professional abstract as I begun with a more personal anecdote. I have a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Rochester. I received my Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management and Services. I have 12 years experience professionally and freelancing child services ages 3-months-old to 16-years-old. I worked in daycare services and school districts providing these professional services as a mental health counselor, teacher assistant, and after school aide. As I have worked with children, I can aid in providing them a safe space to talk, a creative outlet, a mentor, an advocate for resources, and inspire new knowledge. I value working with children as they hold unique and imaginative mindsets that can be explored in various ways such as through play therapy, art therapy, and nature therapy. Throughout my practice, I emphasize an importance on kindness, understanding, inclusion, and empathy. I currently work at The Healing Connection as an Outpatient MHC. I completed internships as MHC in school districts of Sodus and Rochester City, and was an intern counselor for Delphi Rise.
