I worked individually with campers to ensure that camp goals were met. Skills worked on included social skills, managing meltdowns and participating in activities. Specific needs varied, but worked with campers with Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders and Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder.

Directed day camp for children aged 3-5. Responsible for planning and executing daily activities to enrich fine and gross motor skills, early literacy skills and cooperation. Supervised staff of 3 counselors and 4 counselors in training. Managed communication between staff and parents.

As a group counselor, I led a group of approximately 10 school aged children in a day camp setting. Duties included planning downtime activities, leading nature hikes and mediating interpersonal conflicts amongst campers. I was certified in CPR and trained in the management of severe allergies.
