I hold a BaH, Majoring in Psychology, and am passionate about helping members of the community identify their individual barriers to success and how to successfully address them. Specific barriers I assist individuals in addressing include food and housing insecurity, lack of education/formal training, core life skills development and mental health crisis response. I have almost 4 years of combined research, volunteer and paid experience in the organizational behaviours and employee wellbeing industry, as well as almost 2 years working and volunteering in the non-profit sector for mental health services. I have developed and implemented employment workshops, and facilitated community relationships to bridge service gaps for local organizations. I have also successfully completed training in working with individuals with disabilities, research ethics, and safe methods of intervention for individuals facing suicidal ideation. I value a strong sense of community and have brought my values to my work in the social services, where I hope to continue to grow my career.
