The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network leads and catalyses collaboration between academia, industry, health and care providers, commissioners, and citizens to support the continuous improvement of the region’s health and wealth. Our organisational core commitments are to support the transformation of the health of the local population, to enable the population to access the most effective medical discoveries and innovation, and to support sustainable health and care systems.My responsibilities include: developing and implementing an organisation-wide communications strategy, website and social media management, writing press releases and newsletter copy, brochures, web articles and publications, supervising video and audio content creation, and working with partner organisations including Birmingham Health Partners, University of Birmingham and our host organisation University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

As Events and Engagement Officer at Coventry University, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, I plan and deliver a series of events and webinars, including student recruitment exhibitions and the Annual Degree show; offering graduates the opportunity to showcase their work.

Since joining Medilink WM in September 2011, I have gained a huge amount of experience and knowledge of the Medical Industry. Working across several areas of the company, including the management of MedilinkUK.com as news & content creator, marketing and management of the official Edgbaston Medical Quarter website, and assisting in membership process and support, I am now responsible for the organisation and management of Medilink events.As well as managing Medilink events, focusing on current sector specific topics, I often organise events for public and private organisations including the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network, SBRI Healthcare and UK Trade and Investment.
