A key member of the Healthy Environments Program team, this position contributes to the implementation of the Agency's Climate Change Action Plan project. In this position I work closely with the program team, partner organizations and local municipalities to implement project activities, support and foster climate change policy development and build support for climate change action within the agency and among our communities. Key responsibilities include; · Develop agency resources including a climate change adaptation plan;· Actively participate in community engagement and knowledge translation activities; · Assist the Healthy Environments team in facilitating the sharing of knowledge of best practices in municipal and community climate change planning;· Work collaboratively to strengthen capacity, internally and with community partners, on climate change; · Participate in a regional climate change working group; · Contribute to team and agency effectiveness.

• Apply time management and organization skills to achieve self-determined goals to timely complete activities of scoping review including abstract review, full article review and charting of updated search in addition to conducting data cleaning.• Work closely with peers from Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, partners from Cambium Aboriginal Inc. and an Advisory Committee to complete scoping review activities, and ensure that project objectives are met, and results will be useful to intended knowledge users.• Develop draft of knowledge translation plan and workplan to identify methods to share findings in meaningful ways to influence public health practice.• Expand knowledge of Federal structures, responsibility and processes.

• Supported the City of Toronto’s Community Development Team with local neighbourhood initiatives associated with the Toronto Strong Neighbourhood Strategy 2020.• Developed and delivered health communication messaging around extreme heat through a variety of channels including presentations during community meetings.• Researched and established a decision-making tool to support the community decision-making process associated with the Neighbourhood Grants Program.• Collaborated with co-workers from a variety of different departments to support community safety initiatives and meetings, including the development of a community safety survey

• Conducted a scoping review on public health interventions that support climate change and health adaptation. Worked closely with Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to develop research protocol along with a project work plan. • Collaborated with cross-functional experts to identify relevant peer review and grey literature and conducted study review, selection and charting.• Coordinated meetings and meeting agendas with co-workers and Partner.

• Expanded knowledge of the public health impacts of climate change and the roles of local public health units in fostering community resiliency. Deepened understanding of public health practice specific to: health unit structure, health promotion theory, knowledge translation and stakeholder/community engagement.• Actively contributed to evidence-based practice and supported the Climate Change Action Plan by enthusiastically sharing health promotion knowledge and relevant resources to guide decision-making.• Developed skills and competencies related to assessment and analysis to support public health practice.• Demonstrated effective communication and collaboration with health unit staff across programs and departments as well as with municipal and community stakeholders.
