As a Chemistry PhD Candidate at the University of Chicago, I am passionate about advancing the field of particle physics with innovative superconducting materials. My research focuses on characterizing and optimizing the alloying and oxidative pathways of triniobium-tin (Nb3Sn) thin films, which are promising candidates for superconducting radiofrequency (SRF) cavities in linear particle accelerators.With a strong background in surface chemistry and materials engineering, I have developed mechanistic material growth studies that probe interfacial and surface phenomena at atomistic scales. I have leveraged surface chemistry techniques to identify how the Nb oxide morphology facilitates Sn nucleation, and collaborated with accelerator physicists and materials engineers to develop predictive alloy growth models. My work has contributed to enhancing the performance and efficiency of SRF cavities, and has resulted in multiple publications and presentations.
