This internship role was extremely beneficial to my growth as a designer. I was able to utilize the skills that I have been working hard to achieve through my education and apply them to a professional setting. I was able to use AutoCAD in order to assist in the creation of floor plans and use Microsoft PowerPoint to create solution pages that help enhance the visual representation of design concepts for client presentations. I was able to use AutoCAD in order to assist in the creation of floor plans and use Microsoft PowerPoint to create solution pages that help enhance the visual representation of design concepts for client presentations. I was also introduced to new programs such as CET which helps designers creating accurate designs, use real products to allow for easier specification, design live with customers, and easily generate documents that simplify the order process. While this internship provided me with invaluable experience, one of the greatest outcomes was meeting so many talented designers. As a style team associate, I developed strong customer service communication skills through welcoming interactions and extensive product knowledge. I also worked efficiently to organize and stock products, while assisting in sales and taking inventory.

As a daycare teacher, I lesson planned creative activities aiding in the children’s intellectual development. I also encouraged positive interactions among the other children, providing a safe place for them to grow and learn. Through this role, I developed strong planning and organizational skills, learning the importance of taking leadership while being compassionate and understanding.
