About Sarah Schaefer
Throughout my life I have had a passion for storytelling. From reading books and studying history growing up to theatre work and my experience in exhibits, I have always craved work that was about making human connections through the stories we tell. Development and community engagement is where my heart now lies, to play my part in raising community conscience and broaden perspectives. I feel a responsibility to help people make those connections through organizations whose mission is to fill that role in our communities. I want to actively improve our society and be apart of innovating how we reach those who are often left in the margins. While my MA in Arts Administration sparked my interest in development, my time working with the Monroe County History Center (MCHC) has made certain the career path I am now pursuing. Building connections with the communities and donors they serve fills my time even off the clock. Although I have always found joy in exhibit work, what really sparks my interest is the ability to share those stories and reaching people so they might experience the potential impact of those exhibits. And the world if filled with organizations with important and meaningful missions who could benefit from my skill sets and varied experiences, in whom I would be deeply fulfilled to invest my time, effort, and passion.
Listed skills include Event Planning, Work Ethic, Lighting, Sound, and 4 others.
