We spend most of our waking hours in relationship with our work, wouldn't it make sense to ensure it’s a healthy one? Of course, it would. But what does this mean? For individuals, this means getting clear about who we are and what we want despite the noise of expectations, identities, and roles that are put upon us & that may not align. Armed with personal goals (even short-term ones), an understanding of our strengths & developmental areas, we are able to find integration between our work and life.For organizations this means ensuring we are in integrity, meaning our lived culture matches the experiences of our employees. This requires alignment from the vision down to the daily actions that make up the culture. Work, this space where we intersect, is rife with “relationship” issues. So much time, money, & energy are put towards solving these issues, but what’s missing is the simple recognition that we are humans having a human experience. Just like any other long-term relationship, rarely do performative actions solve the relationship issues.This is where I come in.I can see both sides. I understand the complexity & nuance that can make or break the relationship. I get that it takes two to tango and there are both organizational & personal responsibilities at play. I also know what it means to live and lead stoked…and I promise, I didn’t start that way.To those ends…I work with individuals helping them clarify their life and work goals, speak up for those goals, & make informed choices when embarking on change. I also work with organizations to ensure organizational integrity & cultural alignment that supports success. The ultimate goal is to create this space, or culture, where all are stoked to be a part of. Why "stoked"? To me, it evokes something different. Are you happy with your accomplishment? Or are you stoked!!? Are your employees engaged? Or are they stoked!!? It feels different…and that's the point.
