Sarah E. Blodgett is an innovative thinker and creative strategist more than 25 years of experience in branding, marketing, communications and public policy. Sarah has been Communications Director for Massachusetts State Senate President Karen E. Spilka since July 2018. During this time, Sarah has overseen the successful roll-out and passage of the landmark Student Opportunity Act and Mental Health ABC Act - both of which are now law. She also spearheaded all of the real-time COVID-19 communications for the Senate President and Senate throughout the duration of the pandemic.In February 2023, Sarah conceived, planned and oversaw Senate President Spilka's new annual signature event, Galentine's Day. Designed to celebrate women's friendship and leadership, the inaugural event featured Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim, Driscoll, Attorney General Andrea Campbell, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley.When Sarah served as Chief of Staff & Communications Director to Spilka from 2007-2011, Senator Spilka was endorsed by the MetroWest Daily News as “…quite simply, the most effective legislator MetroWest has sent to Beacon Hill in a generation."Previous to her work in government, Sarah worked in international development and education.
