Trakm8 is a technology leader in vehicle fleet management, insurance telematics and optimisation software for routing and scheduling of fleets and vehicle camera solutions. I lead the integration and on-boarding process for key account customers with Trakm8's fleet optimisation software. In parallel, I orchestrate a portfolio of grant funded collaborative R&D projects aligned to Trakm8's future new product development road map. My role involves remote working with travel to UK and international customer sites as required.In January 2017 I joined start-up Route Monkey Ltd which became a wholly owned subsidiary of Trakm8. I consolidated Route Monkey’s projects operating at a start-up level with the more formal SME business structures and operations of Trakm8.Key responsibilitiesInitial project scoping and requirements gathering to create a statement of work and commercially viable project plan, including resource and budget allocation.Communication of project progress against plan, budget control, risk management and mitigation, outcome reporting, project sign-off against deliverables and milestones while maintaining customer satisfaction.Harmonising the interface between Agile and Waterfall project management approaches.Cross-matrix and virtual team management.Cooperation with internal developers to provide secure API, ePOD, middleware and mobile gateway services for customers.Relationship management between customers and internal development teams.In-depth knowledge of fleet electrification, electric vehicles and smart charging projects.Public presentations, support for marketing communications and related PR activities.

Programme areas involved electric vehicles, micro-generation and energy storage, smart energy systems and heat networks.Key responsibilitiesIdentifying project opportunities and establishing consortia to successfully bid for UK or EU funding.Project mobilisation and subsequent life cycle management of multiple, simultaneously running projects aligned with an Anglo-French new product development road map.Representing EDF Energy as a member of the Strategic Advisory Board for the Energy Technologies Institute Transport Group and Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Network.Promotion of the R&D UK Centre and project activities to industry and non-specialist audiences.Key AchievementsETI: Leadership of EDF Energy’s contribution towards the successful £5M Consumer Vehicles and Energy Infrastructure bid with TRL, Shell, CENEX, Baringa and The University of Aberdeen. With EDFE Legal support, I negotiated commercial terms with lead partner TRL and managed EDFE’s contribution towards this 2-year project.Innovate UK: £40k micro-generation and battery storage feasibility study which led to a 2-year, £1.1M commercial field trial under the 2014 Localised Energy Systems call, with partners Connected Places Catapult and Route Monkey.EU Horizon 2020: Led by Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, SIM4BLOCKS was a 4 year, €5.5M project to explore business models for energy storage in static battery systems in tandem with district heat networks. I negotiated contract terms for EDFE and managed internal resources through to delivery.Leadership of R&D UK team’s participation in the EDF-Panasonic strategic partnership for battery development and localised energy storage in the UK and France.
