I led this program through the LGS facility upgrades, GS laser upgrades, commissioning phases and operation during initial science runs on the Gemini 8-meter telescope in Chile. The program culminated with the successful commissioning of the five-beacon LGS facility for GeMS, the Gemini South Multi-Conjugate Adaptive Optics (MCAO) system, which resulted in world firsts both in terms of laser and adaptive optics technologies for ground-based astronomy.-Head of export control-Procured proprietary spare laser parts for Gemini South, Gemini North, and Keck observatories-Developed and implemented remote laser monitoring system with SMS alerts for out-of-range conditions-Implemented ISO 7 cleanroom protocol for Laser Service Enclosure-Wrote 50+ procedures for guidestar laser technicians and laser guidestar facility operators -Won the 2012 Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) Team Award. -

I worked with Dr. Charles Byvik in the Solid State Materials Lab characterizing Ti:Sapphire that led to the successful development of a tunable laser source. Also worked with GE Labs, Union Carbide, and Stanford University on the development of a laser suitable for space. With Stanford worked on the development of the first DPSS solid-state ring laser and the SUNLITE shuttle project.
