Alaska Geographic is the congressionally designated nonprofit partner to Alaska's spectacular parks, forests and refuges. Headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska Geographic operates income-generating educational bookstores alongside youth and adult outdoor engagement and service programs. | PARTNERSHIPS |Set and guided strategy to develop collaborative relationships with diverse partners on behalf of Alaska's public lands including federal and state agencies, academic institutions, businesses and NGOs. | COMMUNICATIONS |Directed internal and external communications among staff, members, partners, donors, board, and public; developed and implemented social media strategies; produced monthly and targeted newsletters and mailings. Edited and produced Alaska Geographic publications.| MEMBERSHIP | Redesign and implement membership program (3000+ members); donor cultivation; design and promotion of membership and donor campaigns.| DEVELOPMENT | Worked with the Director and Board to generate financial support targeting Alaska businesses and public lands supporters; assisted with programatic fundraising including grant writing, management, and reporting.

| PARTNERSHIPS |Collaborated with public lands agencies, school districts, business and non-profit partners to develop and implement programs that build long-term connections between diverse youth and Alaska's greatest resource, our magnificent parks, forests, and refuges. | PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT |Created teacher-training course to connect teachers with agency and business professionals in wetlands science; collaborated with diverse partners to develop cross-disciplinary outdoor learning experiences for youth in the Anchorage area.| YOUTH ENGAGEMENT |Worked directly with public schools to provide outdoor service learning projects that included curriculum-based science experiences alongside the opportunity to restore habitats on Alaska's public lands.

Developed and implemented supplemental science experiences for K-6 students including:* Founder / director of Bolinas Stinson After School, a science-oriented program attracting up to 80% of area students* Science educator and assistant director for Bolinas Stinson Summer Science Camp* Guest educator for wetlands instruction, 1st - 5th grade

Collaborated with Point Blue's more than 100 research staff to disseminate the results of ecological programs with an emphasis on increasing understanding of and support for the process of science in a changing world. Led education programs that reach hundreds of youth and adults; developed and presented curriculum-based classroom and field-based lesson plans on the ecology and conservation of birds and their habitats.

Intern and part-time / short term seasonal biologist working on multiple-partner projects in partnership with Point Blue, USFWS, Alaska Science Center, Oregon State University, Hayward State University, Bodega Marine Laboratory, and additional academic and nonprofit institutions. Areas of work include: • Community ecology of shorebirds in Bolinas Lagoon and the San Francisco Bay• Abundance and distribution of shorebirds in San Diego and Baja California• Breeding biology of Bristle-thighed curlews in Western Alaska• Organochlorine contaminant profiles of sandpipers in San Francisco Bay• Abundance and distribution of waterfowl and shorebirds in the Central Valley of California
