I’m Sarah, a science communicator and health researcher focused on the impacts of discrimination on health outcomes. I believe that research insights are a powerful tool for improving health and equity – but only when shared with the communities they impact the most. That’s why throughout my career, I’ve advocated for the engaging, approachable translation of research to diverse audiences like students, legislators, and healthcare providers.At OCHIN, I support our health equity mission by promoting our research on care delivery and social determinants of health to members who may be able to leverage these findings in their own practice.Earlier in my career, I supported evidence-based policy by working on a team that trained psychologists to share their research to Capitol Hill, maintained relationships with legislators’ offices, and facilitated congressional briefings.I am happy to connect with other science writers, researchers, and alt-ac professionals who share my passion for health equity and science communication.
