I am currently a grocery/bakery Demand Planner at Gordon Food Service. I started my career at GFS in 2018 after I graduated from Central Michigan University with a double major in logistics and marketing. In my current role, I develop and maintain statistical forecast models that will enable GFS to meet sales and service (level) objectives. I manage forecast exceptions and maintain data in the GFS forecasting/replenishment system to drive continuous improvement with customer in-stock performance, inventory turns, and product loss. There is a lot of focus on seasonal demand in my role and I manage the demand attributes for these new and seasonal items. I am passionate about recruiting top talent and bringing them into GFS. Some events I have attended while recruiting include resume reviews, career bootcamps, teaching in classes and networking nights. Building ongoing relationships with colleges, faculty, and students are a strength that I continue to grow while also accomplishing my day to day tasks. I have had a direct impact with three (current) employees who now work on our supply chain team.I have I also have experience in project management while participating on an internal functional team where I have helped build (from scratch) and maintained a mentorship program; which gives visibility to our department to college students from multiple colleges as well as internal employees. Although it was put on hold during the pandemic, we were able to hire 4 mentees into full time jobs upon completion of the program. We have also planned and organized an "Experience GFS Day" to showcase who we are and why we are a top employer in west Michigan.During the winter and spring seasons, I am a part-time basketball and lacrosse official. During these months, I am responsible for keeping athletes safe during games by making accurate, clear, and fair calls on both sides of the court/field. I have to make split second decisions and handle the disagreements from coaches and players politely and professionally. Being able to give my time and effort back to the sport I grew up loving, is hard work but very rewarding!
