Sarah J. Hartman is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Indiana, as well as the Federal District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court.Sarah earned her J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During her time at Cooley, she was a founding member and officer of the Thomas M. Cooley Student Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Prior to her legal career, Sarah graduated with Honors from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Engineering Technology and Minor in Applied Physics.Sarah's practice focuses primarily on employment and labor law, municipal law, and civil rights litigation. Sarah is actively involved in the community. She has served on the board of directors for the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, the Berrien County Bar Association, 100 Women Strong, the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association and as a member of the grants committee for the local Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliate. Sarah lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She enjoys music and is an accomplished violinist.
