It was my role to create and implement the long term marketing strategy for all areas of the Riviera Centre’s businesses: Waves Leisure Pool; Lifestyle Health and Fitness Suite; Aqua Lounge Cafe & Bar; Meetings and Events; and Conference English Riviera. I created annual marketing plans and budgets for each area of the business and was responsible for their implementation.Management of the day to day marketing activity: I co-ordinated all advertising and marketing collateral for the Centre and Conference English Riviera; managed a schedule of newsletters and Eblasts; maintained two websites and all social media platforms.I loved this role but opted for Voluntary Redundancy when the opportunity arose in favour of a new challenge!

This role was part time and focused on Marketing and PR for Conference English Riviera. In this position I implemented short term marketing strategies, supported the Conference Bureau Manager and managed the day to day marketing activity. Co-ordinating advertising campaigns, corporate brochures and mailing projects were some of my primary roles. I was also responsible for copywriting and PR, for the maintenance of the website and social media strategy.I organised group representation at key industry exhibitions such as International Confex, for both Torbay and Devon, involving stand design, pre-show marketing and hospitality.I set up an accommodation booking service for delegates, co-ordinated the introduction of a dedicated website and help develop an on line accommodation booking system. During this time I am proud to have delivered an award winning marketing campaign, recognised by the Meeting Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA).Conference English Riviera is dedicated to marketing the Riviera Centre as a conference and event venue and the English Riviera as a business tourism destination.

We created a corporate brand, marketing campaigns and other promotional material. I carried out telesales projects, client field and site visits, attended national industry events and exhibitions and worked closely with local business hotels and tourist attractions.

Initially I worked with the Sales and Marketing Manager and General Manager to promote and sell the Riviera Centre as a major national conference venue. Our clients ranged from top political organisations, trade associations and unions, national and local companies and dedicated conference and event organisers. My key responsibilities included telesales and marketing campaigns, client site and field visits and attendance at industry exhibitions and networking events.As I progressed in this role I became more involved with conference and corporate marketing. I worked on a new advertising campaign, helped develop a new corporate re-brand, brochure and associated resources. I now had a dedicated assistant and was responsible to the Managing Director. Under this structure I nurtured relationships with the key local business hotels and convention bureau and successfully arranged two large group familiarisation visits to the area.

I was part of a small team of two people. We were solely responsible for selling exhibition stands for seven holiday and leisure exhibitions held at various venues across the North of England. These were organised by the regional affiliated publications. We also had the opportunity to work with the National Exhibition Centre (NEC Birmingham) Sales Team, when our companies collaborated in bringing a large new holiday exhibition to Edinburgh.
