I am a professional speaker, combining my two areas of passion and expertise - healthcare burnout and Modern Slavery. Although at first glance these might seem unrelated, I believe in a health ecosystem which places value on all people - from Health Executives to the frontline staff, through to the people in our supply chains. I also speak on the Modern Slavery Act to businesses outside the health arena in a wide range of industries. As a Registered Nurse with more than twenty years’ experience across multiple sectors, I have experienced both the brilliance and the burnout of healthcare. Like most healthcare workers, I have seen the very best and the very worst of humanity, often on the same day. My nursing career has taken me on many adventures around the world. Most recently, I worked as a Health Advisor for survivors of human trafficking in Spain. When I am in Australia, I specialise in palliative care and cancer services. It is this lived experience - both local and global, which brings a unique perspective to my keynote presentations "The Human Cost of Healthcare" and "Unchaining your Supply Chains." As a corporate leadership trainer, I bring the added perspective of being able to identify the gaps between health leadership and the human faces of healthcare. My empathetic style seasoned with stories and humour help you to bridge those gaps, and bring new vitality to the health workforce. With two decades of experience in leadership, humanitarian work and healthcare, I also bring first-hand knowledge to the conversation around Modern Slavery, and the why behind the Modern Slavery Act. I am the 2019 Professional Speakers Australia Kerrie Nairn Scholar, a Women’s Economic Forum “Woman of Excellence”, and Young Australian of the Year (NSW, 2004). I am an inspirational speaker and facilitator who speaks on: • The Modern Slavery Act and what it means for your organisation• The human and financial cost of burnout in healthcare• Resuscitating your healthcare teams - building burnout resilient teams.Organisations I have worked with include:Virgin United, World Vision, International Teams, Bridge of Hope, Australian College of Nursing, Australian Healthcare Academy, Richmond High, Blackheath Baptist, Women with Altitude, Lead Up, Women’s Economic Forum, Sydney University, Polyglot Group, Transport NSW, Women's Economic Forum, University of Wollongong, Tonkin Australia, Consult Australia, Institute of Supply Chain Management, To find out more about how I can assist your team or speak at your next event go to www.sarahmorse.com.au
