As the events assistant I was involved in the planning and marketing of eight annual educational events including the Great Lakes Media Show, Capitol Day, Advocacy Conference, Broadcasting Career Builder Conference and quarterly career fairs. I also assisted with the association's awards programs, board governance, and database management.

In my role as the Public Information Coordinator for the Ingham County Road Department I was the initial point of contact for all incoming calls and walk-in visitors. I supplied requested information or route inquiries to the appropriate personnel as well as enter service requests into our database. I was responsible for maintaining the Road Department’s digital presence. I ensured content aligned with departmental goals by posting daily road closure information and construction project updates. When requested I prepared PowerPoint presentations, handouts, brochures and news releases. I was also responsible for processing the Department’s FOIA requests.

I began working for the parks department as an office clerk where my responsibilities entailed answering phones, making reservations, assisting customers, accepting passport applications and various administrative tasks. I was then promoted to the marketing intern and special events coordinator. As the marketing intern I was responsible for drafting all marketing materials such as news releases, brochures, flyers, and social media posts. In my role as the special events coordinator I worked with organizations to help host a variety of events at the parks.

While interning for the State of Michigan in the Department of Environmental Quality my tasks and experiences were diverse. I created all materials for a monthly newsletter for the Friends of the State of Michigan Parks. I collaborated on a number of projects including developing a marketing plan for MEECS a publication that the DEQ developed with the help of several Michigan universities. In addition to these tasks I assisted with the internal communications surrounding the annual Earth Day event hosted by the DEQ, DNR, and MDARD.
