I recently graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. My degree is interdisciplinary in physical science, focusing on math, chemistry, and the environment. The variety of courses required for my degree are applicable to many different roles making me multifaceted and adaptable. The chemistry courses I have taken taught me lab safety and made me familiar with doing lab procedures and using lab equipment. The environmental courses are relevant in understanding the protection of natural resources, including; biogeochemistry, biology and ecology of Pacific salmon, and natural resource ecology. Also, because of statistics and other higher math courses, I can make inferences, predictions, and advanced calculations.Now, I am looking for a position that will advance my knowledge and work experience into a career in science. Even more so, I am eager to learn more and apply myself to something meaningful. I am interested in fields related to forests, energy, genetics, and agriculture.I contribute my success in school and in previous roles to my determination and self-discipline. I have had managers see my potential and allow me to take on important tasks. Also, I graduated with honors while raising two young children and working part-time. When I struggle, I creatively search for solutions and cannot be satisfied until I have solved the problem. I stay organized and on time by prioritizing tasks and preparing for deadlines. I thrive in a busy environment and in positions that challenge me.
