* Recruited, trained and managed PTO executive board of 12 members consisting of parents, educators and school staff for an urban elementary school with ~ 320 students representing a socio-economically, racially and culturally diverse student and parent population * Oversaw 25 committees consisting of 1 to 5 members and 20+ activities including annual appeal, yearly auction, fall fair, and STEAM nights* Ensured annual revenue of $220+ K through active and passive fundraising, grants and community events* Recruited communications team and implemented a strategy to improve the organization’s interactions with the entire school community, with an emphasis on mono-lingual Spanish speaking families, increasing the number of families using the school-wide communication app, ParentSquare, and adjusted language to be more accessible for low literacy community members* Served as a member of the School Site Summit team, a group tasked with assisting the school principal to allocate financial and personnel resources for the upcoming school year using priorities identified during school-wide planning sessions* Partnered with school principal and staff to: increase collaboration between the PTO and teachers and staff; implement changes to programs based on teacher/staff feedback; develop a PTO budget that supported all students and programs at the school * Managed website redevelopment & social media presence (Instagram, Facebook)* Expanded board membership to include communities underrepresented in PTO leadership, Black/African American parents and parents in the Spanish Biliteracy program Increased size and scope of parent-led sports program by 50% to ensure equitable access to athletics for all students regardless of ability to pay team fees/uniforms* Guided collaborative budgeting process for the organization, working closely with the Treasurer to respond to school, staff and student needs and maintain a reserve for anticipated future budget requests
