After working as a graphic designer, I received my HCI (Human Computer Interaction) master's from Georgia Tech. The degree is a fusion of cognitive science, computer science, and visual design.My experience includes mobile design as the UI Design team lead at Kyocera Wireless Corp. At Kyocera, the team focused on phone features and specs including carrier specific UI integration, screen layouts, UI graphics, and user testing.I moved to the DC area to join the USS Zumwalt (next generation Naval destroyer) HCI team. I focused on software designs for the Combat Console suite of screens in the ship's Mission Center as part of a larger HSI (Human Systems Integration) initiative.Back in the commercial realm, as Associate Director of UX at RTC, my work included best practice competitive and heuristic analyses, user personas and scenarios, sitemaps, feature design, wireframing, and specs for client sites, emails, mobile devices and ipad apps. I also created user research plans and led collaborative design thinking sessions with clients to drive strategic recommendations.After 4+ great years at RTC (now Wunderman DC), and another 4+ as a User Experience Manager with LivingSocial, I moved to the public sector with Booz Allen leading a large UX and Digital Strategy team supporting HHS.I'm currently back in the commercial realm with Optoro, where I focus on Ecommerce and Enterprise UX across multiple products. Loving the pace and the challenge of sustainability-focused product design. Specialties: Product User Experience Design, Strategy, and Research (including moderated and unmoderated discovery and validation user testing) for software, web, email campaigns and mobile products. I love taking complex problems and data and working closely with users to build accessible, functional and enjoyable UIs. I've managed large and small teams and taken products from early concept, rapid user test, through iterative development, implementation and launch.
