A 501(c)(3) dance company whose mission is to inspire and cultivate public awareness of the art of dance through performance, education, and outreach; to research and develop cross-disciplinary teaching and presentation methods; to create opportunities for artists and performers; and to augment the accessibility of dance as a performing art.Presentations have included the world’s first live online dance performance (1997), partnerships with scientific organizations utilizing EEG technologies with dancers and creative collaborations with BrainMaster and NASA. MorrisonDance has been commissioned by Ingenuity Cleveland and TriC Presents to create original works in The Cleveland Trust Rotunda, MOCA Cleveland, The May Company Building, and other unique settings in the greater Cleveland area.Over 50 original contemporary dance works premiered annually with MorrisonDance in Cleveland, OH.Frequent inclusion in the Cleveland Public Theatre DanceWorks series.Responsible for securing funding through Ohio Arts Council, Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, PuffinFoundation, and partnerships with the Cleveland Foundation, Young Audiences of NortheastOhio, NASA, BrainMaster, and area colleges and high schools.Responsible for all aspects of creative and administrative direction of a small nonprofit artsorganization with 6 dance members and 3 dance educators.Annual choreography for the High school and middle school musical theatre productions forthe Cuyahoga Heights School District.
