My teaching philosophy is based on the knowledge that every child learns in their own way and no two experiences are the same. I strive to implement different ways of teaching (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) to reach each student in a way that will help them be successful. It is important to me to build relationships with each and every one of my students and their parents, because no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. In doing that, I will gain the trust needed to instill the desired information to my students. It is a main focus of mine to familiarize my students with different life skills that will create successful young adults/adults. My behavioral management philosophy will change slightly depending on the age and grade of my students. For the younger students, I will set out a certain structure to be followed. In doing this, i will ensure the students safety and efficiency of learning. For my students around nine or ten years old and up, I will still have a structured facility, but the students will have more say in rules and consequences. At the beginning of the year we will sit down and determine rules to be followed together. I will assist in guiding them to the desired rules, while also listening to suggestions from them. In doing this, the students will be more prone to following the instructions and hold themselves more accountable. This will start teaching them different life skills in responsibility.

  In this position, i run opening and closing ceremonies with two other counselors, work closely with all other counselors at camp to ensure camp runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. I also am in charge of night activities throughout the weeks.
