I have recently completed earning my master’s in publishing and writing with a focus on design from Emerson College. I currently work as a full-time Keyholder at Lively, while I continue to search for a career in print and/or digital media. I graduated in 2018 from Mercyhurst University where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. I also received minors in graphic design and film studies. Over the years, I have developed excellent research and writing skills, an exceptional ability to pay attention to detail, and experience working successfully in a team. I have recently completed a 3-month internship at Luxury Travel Media in Sydney, Australia where I worked alongside and assisted the Digital Editor and Art Director. Under their supervision, I worked as both a writer and designer. I improved my skills as a creative writer by writing content for the online website and by managing Luxury Travel’s social media. I also improved my talents as a graphic artist by designing magazine layouts, advertisements, and banners that I ensured integrated seamlessly with the current Luxury Travel brand. My time with Luxury Travel Media has taught me valuable skills in creative thinking, problem solving, and communication, as well as increased my proficiency using software such as WordPress and InDesign.At my alma mater, I worked as a co-designer for the university’s literary magazine, Lumen. Along with another graphic artist, our job was to design the theme and layout of the 2018 edition of Lumen. Together we had to combine our unique styles to create a cohesive design. This required coordination, communication, and trust in completing our respective tasks on time. To develop our design, we had to conduct extensive research and create a proposal, while also working to ensure our design met the approval of the literary editors of the magazine. My understanding of the literary perspective allowed me to ensure my design conveyed the message our client wanted Lumen to portray. In the end, my design partner and I published a respectable and efficient literary magazine.
