Marketing Intern
University Of Toronto Press
Toronto
As an intern at University of Toronto Press, I helped input metadata for the Spring-Summer 2014 catalogue into the website CSM and edited the HTML code so that book information would display correctly on every website UTP books are sold. I also uploaded images onto the DAM to be used for display on websites. I helped proof the current catalogue before it went to print ensuring that prices, ISBNs, discount codes, and release dates were all accurate. I pulled quotes from reader reports to be used in various marketing efforts. I was responsible for multiple research tasks, including creating email lists and updating Foreign Rights contact information. In total, I helped add almost 700 professors to various e-marketing masterlists. I also researched professors to send review copies to when none were requested by the author. I participated in a local conference where UTP books were being sold, and helped prepare for other conferences by creating book lists for exhibits at which we were represented by Scholar’s Choice. I represented UTP when meeting with an author to get books signed and assisted in other publicity efforts such as mailings and proofing press releases. I was responsible for checking that all books to be presented in the weekly marketing meeting were displaying correctly on Amazon, Chapters, and Barnes and Noble.
