Beginning with the organisation in 2005 as a volunteer tutor and later as a trainer, I became a staff member in 2010, and created its most successful public service campaign with local 'celebrity' spokespersons to appeal to men who were unable to read.Contributing to the role during my time in Japan, I returned to the position with experience in gamification as a teaching strategy, just as ALTA was entering a new phase of digitisation of the ALTA Programme. My core tasks were to raise awareness about adult literacy in Trinidad and Tobago and produce a campaign to destigmatize persons using the ALTA Programme. Also to work with a team of ALTA trainers and computer programmers to build the user interface of a digital classroom called ALTA Online. On an organizational level, I provided support to the founder and CEO Paula Lucie-Smith by finding ALTA Ambassadors who attended media engagements and gave authentic representation of the successes of the programme to corporate sponsors and funding agencies. Worked as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Okinawa Prefecture as part of an internationalisation programme called JET. In my capacity as an ALT I spent time at the Ruydai University Hospital and Naha Children's Hospital interacting in English with children suffering from long term medical conditions.

We produced the first student newspaper in Trinidad and Tobago: The Student Press, which promoted youth issues, and advocated for children's rights. As editor, I collaborated with students and a team of young journalists to produce the digital feed and monthly copy of the newspaper.

After engaging in freelance work for the company from Trinidad, I was invited to take a staff position.As a staff writer I covered the opening of the Freedom of Information Protocol Office, the 27th annual Caribbean Association of Pharmacists Conference, and the launch of Caymanian artist Gordon Solomon's exhibition "The Sexes".In addition, I served as sub-editor for the print edition of the newspaper and for all releases produced by marketing firm MCM Consultants, a subsidiary of Cayman Net Limited.
