As a Regional Transformation Specialist, I am charged with implementing US PREP’s mission to provide on-the-ground support to colleges of education, with the larger goal of ensuring that every child, especially our children who have been historically underserved, have access to highly effective teachers. I currently support the following institutions:Brooklyn College (NY), Lehman College (NY), Touro College (NY), and Texas A&M University -Corpus Christi (TX) as they work to continuously improve the learning experience for their students.

As a member of the Board, I monitor programs to ensure that they are implemented with quality and in accordance with our mission and goals. I work to ensure that we comply with regulations and policies and consistently communicate with all stakeholders. Together our board members also ensure the integrity of our foundation through financial and organizational accountability. As a mentor with the Washington Street Foundation, I am one of a group of volunteers who provide long-term mentoring to local students who show both outstanding academic potential and demonstrated needs. Alongside their schools and families we support these students from fourth grade through high school. In this high-touch program, we focus on achieving academic excellence, contributing meaningful community service, and leading by example. In addition, the foundation provides financial assistance and guidance, as the students become the first in their families to attend college.

As the Lead Instructional Coach with iTeachELLs, I am responsible for: - Managing projects at the university and district levels focused on preparing all educators to support culturally and linguistically diverse students. - Communicating with leaders at the university and district levels regarding content, research, and logistics of large-scale professional partnerships. - Planning, developing, and managing curriculum reform alongside university instructors, faculty, and in-service teachers.- Planning, delivering, and evaluating professional development sessions for university instructors, faculty, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers focused on preparing all educators to work with culturally and linguistically diverse students. - Working collaboratively with university instructors and faculty to infuse effective academic content language strategies for culturally and linguistically diverse students using a Problem-Based Learning framework into content course syllabi and activities. - Leading project coaches in the development and delivery of research-based instructional strategies. - Teaching university courses.

Tempe, Arizona

In partnership with the Center for Advanced Studies in Global Education (CASGE) and the Ministry of Education in Palestine, I worked alongside 10 educational leaders visiting from Palestine to increase their knowledge and skills in the area of best practices, leadership, and innovation. This work included several site visits to urban and rural schools across the state of Arizona as well as well as signature projects to be implemented by the Palestinian leaders upon return to their home schools.

As a RMTL, I worked within the statewide comprehensive education reform initiative including Comprehensive Reform Schools and Distributed Professional Development for teachers and leaders funded by the Teacher Incentive Funds (TIF) and Arizona Ready-for-Rigor Project. I oversaw the implementation of the Comprehensive School Reform program and professional development at the school and district level which included facilitating professional development, coaching leadership teams, observing/coaching grade level team professional development. I served as a liaison between program leadership and the school/district providing regional outreach and support for program implementation, coordinating data collection and dissemination of data analysis with program specialist, monitoring teacher evaluations and individual growth plans, school plans and district professional development plans, and contributing specialized strengths to the statewide program.

As a partner with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, I have supported the organization in the development and presentation of professional developments sessions focused on the following educational topics:- Student-Engaged Assessments: Encouraging Students to be Leaders of Their Own Learning- Building a Culture Where the Student is Validated- The Role of an Assistant Principal in Comprehensive School Reform- Creating Effective Assessment Plans and Teacher Made Assessments- Leveraging Student Work to Increase Effectiveness

As an Assistant Principal I was responsible for the development, supervision, and evaluation of 65 employees at a K-8 school with 750+ students. I supported the implementation of a national school reform system which resulted in our staff receiving the School of Promise award from the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) in 2011. I was directly in charge of creating and implementing a comprehensive school behavior plan resulting in a significant decrease in student referrals and suspensions as well as increasing instructional minutes for teachers and students.

Mountain View Elementary School, K-8

As an Academic Coach my responsibilities included the development and presentation of educational workshops to teachers grades K-8 on current best teaching practices and use of curricular materials. I observed and coached individual teachers to achieve targeted professional growth plans. I also represented the district and school leadership by presenting at school board meetings, undergraduate teaching courses and various district wide professional development sessions. I was the site coordinator of the administration of the state assessments, district benchmarking, AZELLA testing and associated data analysis.
