Led the permitting of solar and transmission projects in Florida. Assisted with project development strategy and route selection. Managed consultant activities (wildlife, wetland, and cultural resource surveys) and reviewed work products. Prepared ERP and 404 permit applications, modifications, and RAI responses. Procured consultant services and reviewed and approved invoicing. Additionally, supported desktop reviews and provided permitting guidance for solar trees, an EV Canopy, communication towers, and other corporate facilities.

March-August 2020: Continued to fulfill responsibilities similar to the Associate position while taking on more complex and challenging projects. Assisted in mentoring and training new team members and supported a process improvement by creating standard checklists used during project turnover. Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification received as a result of process improvement. August 2020-October 2021: Accepted a lateral move to FPL Licensing and Permitting Team to grow permitting and development skills. Conducted desktop reviews and due diligence for potential property acquisition. Supported managers and senior staff with preparation of permit applications, modifications, and RAI responses. Responsible for managing environmental compliance associated with the construction of renewable energy facilities in 15+ states. Performed compliance inspections with a focus on stormwater management, wetland and wildlife avoidance, waste and materials storage, and cultural resource preservation. Advised and assisted contractors with procuring or modifying permits as project scope changed. Analyzed and communicated risk to management. Obtained the following certifications: Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control InspectorNational Certified Stormwater Inspector (Construction and MS4)

Designed manipulative field experiments and conducted field work in Florida mangrove habitat. Data collected, analyzed, and published for Master's thesis. Tracked budgets and reported expenditures to funding organizations (Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute and Florida Sea Grant - NOAA).

Managed two Biology lab courses each semester (50 students). Created, administered, and graded weekly quizzes and final exams. Supervised undergraduate students in the application of practical biology skills in lab setting.

May-August 2014: Assisted with environmental permitting, including proofing material received from project leads, aiding in the resolution of permit application issues, and facilitating timely permit approval. Supported compliance reporting to Florida Fish & Wildlife by leveraging SharePoint notification system developed previous summer.May-August 2013: Compiled and analyzed data to generate reports for spill events and wildlife incidents. Leveraged SharePoint to develop incident notification system, as well as standard data capture and reporting. Used ArcGIS to assist in the development of company Google Earth layer for environmental safety initiative.
