Provide leadership and direction for the operations and activities of the college-wide functions and programs of Admissions and Recruitment, College Credit Plus, Academic Advising and Retention, and Records and Registration. Provide leadership and direction for The Gateway to achieve optimum enrollment; oversees the administration of quality customer-oriented services consistent with college policies and standards; and directs, supervises and evaluates staff relative to areas of assignment. Major accomplishment includes the creation of the Strategic Enrollment Management Steering Committee which held its inaugural meeting in September 2018.

The Gateway

Supervised and coordinated academic advising division of The Gateway including policies, procedures and services at four campus locations. Oversee major retention initiatives, such as early alert, mandatory advising, and AmeriCorps College Completion Coach program. Major accomplishments include implementing the academic advising mission statement, implementing mandatory advising, creating the Coordinator of Retention and Completion position, launching a yearly academic advising awareness campaign, implementing Colleague Student Planning, and securing funding for implementation of Ellucian CRM Advise (autumn 2018).

Managed the daily operations of the High School Options division, including recruitment and enrollment activities. Developed a marketing plan, including printed materials, events, promotional items, and website presence. Implemented changes to policies and procedures based upon student performance data. Collaborated with Academic Affairs and high schools to determine appropriate course offerings; coordinated with high schools on application, testing and registration. Major accomplishments include achieving average growth in enrollment of 60% from 2008-2009 to 2011-2012. Additionally, leader during the 2012 semester conversion through developing resources and providing training to staff.

Advised students on academic and career goals, transfer credit eligibility, policies and procedures, and academic support service availability. Coordinated recruitment and new student events such as new student orientations, high school visits to campus and Counselor Awareness Day. Provided guidance to prospective students on the application process, orientation, registration and navigation of college policies and procedures. Managed an admissions territory; conducted high school visits and prospective student outreach. Managed application and enrollment process for Post-Secondary, Concurrent, Dual Enrollment and Tech Prep students on campus and within the high school. Coordinated tracking and processing of articulation agreements for career technical education graduates. Major accomplishments include assisting in the development and implementation of Dual Enrollment and establishing the High School Options division.
