Student researcher at the Sanders Lab investigating novel biomarkers of impaired mitophagy and neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease

Investigate the role of microglial LRRK2 in the dopaminergic neuron survival in the SNpc of mice. Employ genotyping, Tamoxifen i.p. injection, mice perfusion and brain harvest, brain sectioning, histological analysis of mice brains, and western blot analysis of mice brain lysates.

Student research intern the Garcia Summer Scholars program, immersing into interactive lectures on nanotoxicology, biomedical engineering, and microbiology. Conducted and published research on the effect of TiO2 nanoparticles on skin histology, gene expression, and angiogenesis. Published two additional journal articles on the ethics of desalination and germline gene therapy.

Researched and evaluated the effects of the ESG efforts made by companies, presenting work to the CEO. Learned how to utilize real-time data using predictive modeling and AI to monitor air quality, water quality, noise, odor, and vibration.
